Is my cpu bottlenecking my GPU?

This may be a stupid question but I'm not a pro so I'm asking.
Is my AMD Athlon ii x3 450 bottlenecking geforce gt 520?

More about cpu bottlenecking gpu
  1. I dont think so. Your CPU is powerfull enough to handle the GT 520.
  2. Okay thanks :)
Im planning to get a new gpu this week
  3. Wait.. If you are going to game, then this GPU is not at all capable of doing that.

For gaming, better get another GPU. Can we know what budget do you have for GPU?
  4. i have around 150$ and the best gpu i can get for that money is Sapphire radeon hd 7770 ghz edition OC... I asked on other forums and they say that i might experience bottleneck on some gpu intensive games like crysis 3 or battlefield 3

The 7770 (and pretty much any GPU) will bottleneck in Crysis 3.

Your CPU may bottleneck BF3 (especially in 64 multiplayer), but the GPU will be fine here.

It depends on the specific application/game as well as the resolution/settings.
  6. This would be the absolute most GPU you could get for the money you want to spend:

If you don't have the money to buy it and send off for the rebate, look at this:

Good luck with your new GPU.
  7. Well, I'm sticking with 7770 but thank you all for kind answers :)

The HD 7850 is a better card for the same money...? I am a bit confused...
  9. Hhahahaha well it's just that in my country you can get that card for around 200-250$. Really stupid but, hey, it's not my call :P
Btw I'm 16 and my parents wont let me buy stuff on the internet. Well, I'm getting a new processor also for about half a year so I'm gonna have quite a boost in my gaming performance ^^
