I've searched Newegg and forums looking for the solution to my needs but I can't find it. I have a customer who wants to move to a three monitor setup on each of their desks. They don't have any crazy graphics needs. It is only for office producttivity and accounting software.

Here are my must haves:
Capable of fitting in a Optiplex 3010 SFF case (slim)
Support 3 monitors on VGA, DVI, or DP (no HDMI)
Quiet

Here are my wants:
Fanless
Under $75

All monitors are VGA/DVI only. I will have to get a $30 adapter to make the DP work unless there are other options.

All I found so far are Diamond cards for $120 with fans. I'm guessing this will fit in the SFF case but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks for your help.

I need to take a look inside one of the cases to make sure that heat sink will fit but right now I'm thinking that is my card. I'll have to change up my monitor situation just a bit. I was planning on two older VGA only monitors and a DVI/VGA monitor on each desk. This card would only support one VGA monitor. It is time for new monitors anyway.

Yeah not much you can do. Dvi-D and hdmi both digital only signals so no adapter will work without a converter box (expensive). If you open the case might want to check if you can fit two gpus in. Probably not, but worth a look. Then maybe you can get two cheap nvidia 610/620 and be able to reuse the monitors.

Either way with an analog only monitor, they have probably reached end-of-life status anyway :D. Time to hit that IT budget. Unfortunately no good sales on Dell monitors right now (still my favorites).

Trippb,

I am wondering if you got the optiplex systems and that flex card to work. I am looking for that exact same setup but am looking at the power requirmenets for the saphire card and it says 400 watt power supply and the optiplex shows its power supply is 265 depending on the form factor but clearly not in the 400 watt range. I also want to know if it fit... I am looking at the desktop version of the 3010. Thanks a bunch.

Well...

The Sapphire Flex 6450 has a stacked connector that takes up two backplane slots in full length and half height arrangements. I was able to fit this card into the SFF cases but not the desktop and tower cases. It works just fine for basic dual and tri screen setups in an accounting environment.

This card will not fit into most cases where the side access is on the right instead of the left. It will work fine in your basic tower case with an ATX type form factor. One DVI connector goes in line with the PCIx slot. The other DVI connector ends up below it. It ties up another PCI space on the backplane. On newer Dell desktop and tower cases, they use a BTX type arrangement where the access is from the opposite side. This means when you install the card, one DVI connector is in line with the PCIx connector but the other DVI connector needs to go above it because the card is turned over. Dell doesn't have an empty backplane slot above the PCIx connector.

I ended up using the XFX Radeon HD 5450 (Newegg link) in the desktop and tower cases. It gives the functionality I needed but has all video connectors on one backplane connector in full height. In half height, the extra connector is on a cable so you can put it in a second backplane slot on either side of the video card.

I have had no issues in the seven computers I just upgraded. They are all Dell OptiPlexs ranging from 360s to 3010s in SFF, desktop, and tower setups.
