How do I know if I have a power supply using 6 and 8 pin connectors?

Solution
Look for a cable that has either 2x3 holes in it or 2x4 holes in it. Something like this:

There are 6-pin cables, 8 pin cables, and 6-pin cables with two extra holes that can optionally be used for the cable to be used as an eight-pin. If you're looking to upgrade parts, look up your power supply to see if you're getting enough wattage/ amperage to add more parts.
