Hello,
New mobo in my rig - noticed there is no power to rear USB ports when PC is off.
Is there a way to have power to the rear ports? I have seen elsewhere where
a SuperCharger software needs to be installed, but isn't this software just to
increase the charging power to the port that is plugged into a certain red colored UBS connector on the board - this one is apparently the only one that supplies power when the PC is off?

Can anyone confirm this, or advise how to supply power to the rear ports possibly?

I've never owned a MB that has charged USB ports when the PC is off. I've seen a few monitors that have USB hubs that have powered USB ports when it's in standby, but to my knowledge, USB ports remain off when the PC is off. The SuperCharger software is to charge/use certain devices that require more power than the standard USB port. For example, you can't charge a new iPad on a standard PC USB port. In order to do so, you have to use certain software (SuperCharger, etc) or plug directly into the power outlet with the included accessory. Hope this helps.

OK thanks..that is what I have been seeing as well when I search on the topic, although I could swear my previous MSI board had power to the rear ports as I seem to remember seeing the power light on my external HD when the PC was off.

I need to charge my wireless mouse by USB...guess I can use a cell charger or get a USB/ac adapter

My external HD also stays on after my PC shuts off, but that's because it powers itself through a power outlet even though it's connected to my PC via USB. Don't forget to pick best answer too ^^
