Hi, i need a new soundcard since my DX just died so is the X-Fi Titanium HD and/or the Sound Blaster Z would be good replacement or am i stuck with another DX (now hating ASUS, 3 motherboards 2 560tis and a Xonar DX died on me)

i can get the Sounblaster Z for 80$ (the price of a DX) and the titanium HD is in clearance at 80$

I don't need the 7.1 output since the integrated do well with my amplified speaker set, the sound card will only power Headphones and headset (a Siberia V2 for gaming and a pair of HD558 for music)

I think i'll get the X-FI Titanium HD but i just wanna make sure this will suit my needs...

Thank you !!

Solution
I'd say go with the Titanium HD. I'd normally say STX, but 100 bucks for very little won't be worth it to someone on a budget money wise.
The titanium HD is better for headphones, it has a better DAC, although it does not have a real headphone amplifier like the Z.

The HD558 only have a impedance of 50 Ohms so I would not worry to much about the titanium HD lack of amplifier.

I think you should get an essence ST/STX, they are great cards.

Thanks, i loved my DX (no headphone amp) and i don't think i need a 200$ sound card, that's why i was looking at under 100$, these we're the 3 i was able to buy fast and not over 100$...

but thanks for the suggestion, i'll try an STX and maybe i'll love it and put 200$ finally !!
