This is my spare hardware build and I am looking for advice on optimizing my setup (without purchasing new hardware only at a last result).

The rig this is in regards to is the following (not the rig in my signature:

GIGABYTE FM1 AMD A55 Hudson D2 DDR3 1800 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard GA-A55M-DS2

AMD A4-3400 APU with AMD Radeon 6410 HD Graphics 2.7GHz Socket FM1 65W Dual-Core

4 GB DDR3 1333mhz Ram

400watt PSU

Win 7 OS

Sapphire Radeon 6770

Additional Note: HDTV Samsung LED 720p 32 inch as monitor

I would just like to know if it is worth it or possible to overclock an A4 APU? Thanks in advance.

Also an APU is meant to be an APU. Not a cut down CPU while ignoring the graphics section and using a discrete card.

There are known problems with having an APU and a stand alone graphics card.

The issue I am having is playing Rift on medium-low settings which is a low graphics demanding game (I wont even touch other games yet since its pretty bad on this one). I used this card on the rig in my signature and was able to play Skyrim on High settings. This leads me to believe it is the CPU. 2.7ghz dual core should be enough to run the game at high with 4 gb of ram. So I really do not know specifically what is wrong but I am looking for any advice. Thanks in advance.

So using an a4 for the processor only is a stuipid idea right? so if i go for a quad core phenom i sould have better performance than using a4?
