Installed Windows in Hard Drive but i have an SSD?

I installed windows onto my Hard Drive but i have an ssd. how do i go about transfering windows or uninstalling it and installing it back up in the ssd. do i lose the product key if i uninstall it? or completely remover.

Unplug the HDD(leave only the SSD connected). Install Windows, drivers, and patches. Once this is done, plug the HDD back in and format the HDD.

one more question ... what about the product key... will it ask for it again? what happens then because i have already used it on the first install??
