Newly Built ASUS Z87-PRO Won't POST -- Checked Everything Multiple Times

The motherboard in my old 2007 build finally gave up the ghost, so I salvaged the video card, optical drive, and SSD from it for a new PC. But there are electronic bats in my belfry: The new build will not POST. After several hours of work, I only have a blank screen; all of the LEDs light up on the new motherboard (an ASUS Z87-PRO), however.

I have meticulously checked and reseated every connection--memory, video card, CPU, and SSD. I have also double-checked both power connections to the Z87-PRO. Everything was fine.

Here's what I know: The PSU is delivering power. I checked it with a power supply tester, and swapped out the new PSU with my old unit. The result was the same: No POST. I also removed the two DIMM units and received the memory error beep, while changing one unit for another and transposing slots. This produced no different effect.

I also tried swapping out the DVI cable to different inputs, including one straight from the motherboard. Still no change.

Dramatis personae

PSU: Corsair TX650
Motherboard: ASUS Z87-PRO
CPU: Intel i7 - 4770K
RAM: Crucial 1600 DDR3 (2 X 4GB)
Video card: EVGA GeForce GTX 550Ti (taken from old PC but working fine)
SSD: Samsung 840 (ditto)
OS: Windows 8

I've worked on this for the past three days, reading other posts and trying different avenues before submitting this query. I am now officially at the end of my tether.

The motherboard beeps once when powering up and then no more (unless I remove different parts). The last Q-code I receive is "A2," which ASUS' guide translates as "IDE Detect." I swapped out my current SSD with an older mechanical drive, but this still went nowhere.

Any ideas…? They would be much appreciated!

Apologies for the length of this. I wanted to provide as much relevant info upfront as I could.

Solution
I have basically the same set up, there could be several issues going on here.

I noticed you didn't list you had a Blu-Ray Drive or Optical Drive installed? This code is notorious coming from Optical drives. if there is one, the simply remove it and try again.

If that doesn't work: Make sure your video card is working A2 should be at the point where you are able to see something on the screen(unless it is the optical drive stopping it)

Also you could try using the Flashback bios to see if that fixes it.
