Ram upgrade suggestions?

So I want to upgrade my laptop memory but I need an opinion on what type of Ram I should use, since there are soooo many choices and combinations out there.

It is a HP Pavilion dv6 core i3 4GB ram 64bit 2.40 GHz

The ram that is in there is
Hynix 2GB x 2
PC3 - 10600

I want to upgrade to 8GB or 16GB but I'm leaning more towards 16GB because of what I use my laptop for. I am an avid PC gamer as well as a programmer, also in charge of broadcasting using the adobe flash media encoder, also using visual studio and several programming software. So I am a very heavy multitasker. So far I've managed to limit my PC's processes to not drive my disk and Ram to catch on fire haha but I'm getting a little tired of not being able to run Visual Studio and Blend and be able to check my work in a simple browser without almost crashing and over heating because I don't have enough memory to support my use.

So I hear that Crucial, Kingston, and Corsair are the best brands as well as the fact that there are tier differences.
I'm looking at (DDR3) PC3 - 12800 or PC3 - 14900 with Cas latency of 9 or 10
Brand either Crucial or whatever might be better

If someone could clarify with me what might be the best choice for upgrading based off of what I do and which tier I should be looking for as well as whats the best Cas latency, that would be great!
Or if someone with similar computer use has upgraded, let me know what you did!
thanks

dv6 - 3225dx

Hi,

Your system supports a maximum memory of 8 GB using two 4 GB modules. The memory currently installed is two 2 GB modules. So you can replace them with two 4 GB modules for the maximum performance.

You can check this link for compatible memory upgrades for HP Pavilion dv6-3225dx

The lesser the latency is, the better it is.

Good luck!
