Would it be worth upgrading to a 8350 now or should I wait for the Steamroller?(assuming an AM3+ steamroller is released)

My current CPU is a Phenom II 960T X4 at stock(3.0GHz) and I don't plan on overclocking so I don't know if it'd be worth upgrading to a 8350. I thought about just buying an ASRock 1150 mobo with a Haswell i5-4670k, but my OS is OEM, so that'd be another 100$ for the OS.

For the games I play, my 960T works well, so waiting for the Steamroller is an option but I don't want to wait until spring just to find out there won't be any AM3+ Steamrollers.

Last I heard the next-gen Cpu release for AMD was going to be AM3+. I'd suggest waiting if your current Cpu isn't noticeably slow. I would however suggest you look into buying a good cooler and overclock since it really is stupid easy to get a mild overclock that poses no risk to your hardware. I have my Phenom II 940 which ran stock at 3.0ghz oc'ed easily to 3.5 without changing anything except the multiplier. If you can do that with your Cpu, you'd have a good budget processor on your hands. You will also be using the cooler for your next Cpu upgrade. Even if you decide to ditch Amd and go the Intel route you'd still be using that same cooler, so it's a good investment.

If I were you I'd probably still rock the 960T for a little bit longer. However, if your work loads require multiple cores I don't see why you shouldn't consider looking at pricing options. For some reason I have a weird feeling that the next AMD upgrade I'm going to do will be related to an APU (or whatever name they are changing it to) platform. Steamroller seems so far into the unknown.
