I am having an issue with the audio on my new pc. I just recently built it and was running windows 8 with no problems whatsoever until earlier today. I was in the middle of watching a video when the audio cut out. I don't know what caused it, but I have tried nearly everything; rebooting, redownloading drivers, i even deleted windows 8 and installed windows 7 to try to fix the problem. My computer recognizes when the cable is plugged in or taken out, but will not play anything from the speakers. It has the green bars on the audio mixer too, indicating that the audio should be playing. I connected my speakers to my ipod and they worked fine, so I know its not the speakers. I've heard that this is a motherboard issue so here is what i have: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H. Any help or suggestions are welcome, thanks.

Guess the Sound chip on you Mobo failed. Either RMA the board or buy a Soundcard off Ebay...
