How do I stop my Windows 8 Pc from glitching?

Yesterday, I started up my laptop as per usual and logged in. Once I had it froze on the welcome screen for 5-10 minutes. I decided to restart the computer as it had frozen. Then I started up my computer again and then it had one of its regular black screen glitches which I waited out. After another 5 minutes it finally loaded to the login screen. I logged in and immediately my computer came up with the installing windows screen and completely reset itself! However, when it was finished, it had only installed four apps, the desktop, the store, help and support and the news app. These stay on the screen for 3 seconds and then disappear for 3 seconds. I need to and know how to reset it normally in the settings option, but I can't get it because it resets every 3 seconds and there is no time to go through all of these settings!

Also my computer had AVG installed on it so unless it failed, I don't think that it was a virus...

Thank you for reading this and please help as I desperately need to use my computer again.

Hmmm! That bad! Ideally you will then need either a Windows Repair disk, Windows Installation Media, or else reset your Laptop to Factory settings using it's Recovery Partition. I.e.to avoid factory reset get a pal running Windows 8 to create a Repair Disk for you, it's the only way you will get into Safe Mode to attempt repairs...
