I'm looking into upgrading my computer and getting a new CPU/GPU/MB/RAM. I heard that some new CPUs are being released for quarter 3 in Sep/Oct about.

What are these CPUs like? Are they listed somewhere? Where is the news about this that you can read? I tried googling it and I couldn't find anything.

I would probably go with something like the i5-4670k (~$240) and OC it from 3.4 GHz to 4 GHz I'm guessing (I think you can do as high as about 4.5 GHz but I don't need to go overkill. I've seen a lot of suggestions for that CPU and it seems good.

If the new CPUs are better I might not even want them if they cost a ton. Though if they instantly lower the prices of previous stuff like the i5-4670k then I guess that's worth waiting for.

Solution
For Intel the "Q3 CPUs" are basically the lower end CPUs which are Celerons. Pentiums and Core i3, as well as the high end socket 2011 CPUs. It's been awhile since I seen the price list for the socket 2011 CPUs, but I believe they start at around $400 for the quad core i7 and around $650 for the hex (six) core i7 CPUs and those can go up to $1,000 - $1,100.

Yes from Intel, but only the very high-end Ivy-bridge E chips. Namely the i7 4820K, the 4930K, and the 4960K. they all use the LA 2011 socket, and is not worth buying for the average consumer.

Only the i7 4820K would come in within the OP's budget (at around $300 I think), but it's actually slower for gaming than the i5 4670K. basically, unless you absolutely need 6-cores, or 128GB+ of memory, or some other niche use, you're best bet is the i5 4670K
