i have heard of the rasberry pi but i am wondering about the following things:

what do u need to use the rasberry pi

what cn u do with the rasberry pi

what is different with the rasbery pi compared to a regular computer.

1 Monitor, keyboard, mouse, SD card for the O/S & Storage, some USB power.

2 Loads - there's a desktop system (though make sure you have a later 1000mhz Pi for that) and you can install Debian, people use them as micro servers, remote systems, set-top boxes - all sorts. Google is your friend here ;)

3 Size - the Pi is about 3inches x 2 and has no case (people buy cases, build them from lego, run them without etc), price - around £40 all in with SD card, power and the Pi itself.

The idea is that the platform is extremely flexible, but cheap enough to encourage projects. You can do just about anything with a Pi, and the size and price encourages you to think in new ways. I for example have one in the car that automatically syncs up my...
