Hi

I got a Nvidia GTX 465 which uses pci express 2.0 x16 port.

Now i wanna update my pc a bit, and i wanna buy a new motherboard and cpu.

The motherboard i have in mind is the MSI Z87-G45 GAMING
This motherboard doesnt have a pcie 2.0 x16 port, but it has pcie 2.0 x1

It is my graphic card compatible with that motherboard? Can i use pcie 2.0 x1 port instead of x16?

More about : pcie x16

Yes that card is compatible with that board on PCI-E x16 slot NOT on x1 slot. Why you wanted to use x1 slot for graphics card? It would severely reduces performance of the GPU if its even possible...

The problem is that this motherboartd doesnt have pcie 2.0 x16, just x1.

can i use pcie 3.0 x16 instead of 2.0?

You shouldn't have any trouble with your GTX in the new board. PCI-E x16 slots and cards are interchangeable between versions 2.0 and 3.0.

Install the GTX465 into the pcie 3.0 slot because the pcie3.0 is backward compatible with pcie2.0. The pcie2.0X1 is not for your GTX465.
