I set windows8 to load up in safemode (via the msconfig command), since i need to disable my integrated GPU, and upon restarting it just loads nothing. Spamming shift+f8, brings up the startup options, and after running diagnostics on everything no problems where found, yet no startup task will work. As soon as i try to startup windows it just gives me a black screen and after a few seconds i get a message from my monitor saying no input.

Anyone know anything that could help?

Sounds to me it's time to bring out your Windows 8 disk and use the system recovery option. You should be able to repair your installation of Windows without losing your files.

I never got the disk with it when i bought the computer. I have tried from the startup options to go on system recovery, but just goes back to the void of nothingness :(

I just realized and if I'm reading this right the poster is attempting to access the BIOS from safe mode or did I miss that some where? Normally when you want to access the BIOS you need to press DEL or F2 etc. depending on your system.

I get no startup options that work.

I turn the computer on:
- if i do nothing and try and let it load normally, i just get a no input message.
- If i spam shift-f8 i get the startup menu.
--- diagnostics show no problem
--- cannot boot from any of the options, boot from the drivers gives error and "windows boot manager" takes me to the no input again.
--- system recovery takes me to the no input
--- computer setup doesn't make a difference
--- and i dont even know where to begin when it comes to running a UEFI application

I have completely removed the GPU i am trying to install but there is no change. I never got as far to start using it anyway.
I am not the biggest computer wiz, no i can't get into the BIOS that i am aware of, but i tried all the options i can get from it and cant change anything.

Tbh, apparently I didn't need to go into safemode to disable my integrated GPU (according to my friend) so if i could get back onto windows I could find my way there, the problem is the computer wont startup at all.

There are other ways to disable the intergrated GPU. Try putting your new GPU on, then set it to startup normally and wait for startup. If it doesn't startup, I can't help you. But if it does startup, then go to device manager and disable the driver of your intergrated GPU. Reboot if necessary. I used this method when I try to disable my integrated GPU. I don't know if it works for you.

what is sounds like is you did something you didn't need to!

you have been wrongly informed... you don't need to disable an intergrated graphics... in fact you should never do that..
your os will automatically disable it for you when the drivers load for your dedicated card.

what I think happened is you successfully disabled it and there is nothing to fall back on... so basically you went to safe and disabled graphics card and now you have a screen saying no input(video card disabled) and cuz this you cant get into windows cuz the check for post fails before loading kernel!

to fix simply find how to get into uefi/bios on your windows 8 system which I believe is a 9200 build version.

and click troubleshoot and roll back a couple of days before the change... and next time just right click desktop and choose graphics/NVidia/radeon from the list!

this will work if you :
successfully turned off integrated graphics!
or if there is some other problem.

when choosing the restart button hold shift before clicking restart and it will go to uefi/bios =)

if this isn't the scenario uefi or better known as bios in the old days will allow you to configure it back on..

As something you should know. You can legally download windows 8, your version and burn it to a dvd from microsoft. This will act like a normal disk but if you want to intstall it you would need a key. But yea, its defiantly worth doing just incase you need a windows disk

regarding that windows 8 has same "soul" (more or less) with windows 7.. so i tried this: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html
that works for me. just go to step 6. now i'm oready in normal mode. goodluck. *cheers*
