The Rosewill Thor V2 has 6 connections for controlling fan speed via the topside fan controller knobs. They are labeled A1,A2,A3 and B1,B2,B3 One can use, I understand, any of the to control any fan in the case. However I can't figure out how to connect them. I have a semi-modular Rosewill Capstone 550w PSU and a Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4 mobo. I was told by Anton, a very condescending tech support person, that it had something to do with 2 pin and 3 pin large molex connectors in the case. I do have an extra molex connector or two on the PSU but still don't understand how to make the connectors work for the controller. The are composed of two wires, black and red which end in a squarish black piece of plastic with two male pins.

Any suggestions or direct experience with this case you can share would be appreciated

Your case fans have the 3pin molex so that you directly connect the fans to the fan controller A1-A3 or B1-B3. Also you should connect the 2X4pin molex to the PSU for power the fan controller.

When you connect the fans you should put the back/top fans into one group (A1-A3) and front/side into one group (B1-B3) for best fan speed controll, airflow and cooling.

I finally figured it out in a eureka moment. Why the back/top fans together and the front side in another? I put the front and the top fan on A and the back and the left side fan on B. Should that make any difference?

Usually if you want to best airflow, you should let the cool air intake from front or bottom, and let the warm air go out from top or real. Also the side fan is usually for the GPU cooling so that you should let it intakes the air and blow air to the GPU. Also you should pay attention on the CFM of your intake fans to your exhaust fans. That is why I recommend put the front /side in one group for intake and real/top in other for exhaust, and for easy fan control and better airflow.

If you put the front/ top on A and back/side in B, then that mean let the air intake from front/top and let the warm air go out in the back/side.

And you can always to change the setting and do you own test for the best cooling.

Thank you for that concise explanation. Now I have a bigger problem. The fans aren't working!! I called Rosewill but they were supposed to call me back and haven't yet. I even rechecked the molex connections and reinserted them, restarted the machine but nothing. I'm going to have to connect the fans to the mobo for time being. This sucks!!

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

I just did a build with one and I am 99% sure all the fans were working on the first and second boot but none of them are working now.

Tried new molex from power supply, tried different "port" on power supply.

I'm not sure what would cause them to stop working.

If you were trying to connect the fans to the fan controller on top it may not work for you. As for y buikld, the fans only work from the system board connections. Perhaps a replacement fan controller would be best. get rosewill to send you one and re-install it yourself. shipping back the entire case will be too much of a hassle!!
