Hi All!
I have a problem with my old laptop HDD: it is partially damaged so I had to isolate a physical part of it in order to avoid crashes in the OS (win xp).
I backed up my data and would like to replace the HDD with a new one but I'm not familiar with cloning/imaging sw so I need some help...
here's the plan:
I'm going to buy a new HDD and an enclosing case, so I can connect the new HDD to the laptop via USB and clone the old one into the new one.
Then I'll remove the old drive and install the new one into my asus and boot....all done, maybe?
Since I'd like to avoid wasting money, time and data (even if defected, now the laptop is working fine), can someone please:
- tell me if the procedure is correct so far or if I'm missing some important step
- suggest a cloning sw that can clone the drive(s) where it's running? (is it called live cloning?)
Thanks for any help or suggestion
