I recently built a computer

ASUS P8Z68Pro/Gen3LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel

I2500k

GSkill 8gb ram

Basic browsing surfing core temp speeds read about 38 to 42 C
This is on the middle setting in the bios.

When I throw a game at it, I got to about 68 to 70c

Other day I went into bios and put it on high settings
Loading games I hit over 90c...

This is with the stock cooler

Am I doing something wrong or, do I need a different cooler

I just play 1 game Lineage 2 which is old now

Thanks

Solution
Do not worry much about temperatures. The cpu will downclock itself if it gets too hot to protect from damage.
That temperature might be 100c.
I would not worry much at 70c.

at what temp should I start to worry? I dont mind running it at the middle bios setting for a while... is that 68 to 70 about right for a stock cooler with a game going?
