I'm looking to do some cooling upgrades to my Dell XPS 9100.

I would like to replace the front fan. The exhaust fan and possibly the CPU fan unit with higher performance parts.

I am having trouble finding what sizes are suitable for this machine. I have read that it doesn't accept 120mm fans, but I'm not certain.

It's a rather large tower. I have already replaced the PSU with a Corsair 750w and I have to custom cut a bottom filer bracket because the PSU was about 3/4 inch too small to fill the space in the back.

I did some hunting around, and found some possible answers for you. It seems like the exhaust fan on the 9100 is a 92mm fan. The front intake fan seems to be a 120mm housed in a bracket assembly (hypothetically it would work with any 120mm if this is the case). The case itself is around 197mm wide, which should leave enough room for a decent heatsink/fan, maybe something like this:
