Hello!

For the last several weeks I've been trying to put together a workstation aimed at HD video. I will mostly be using Premiere and AE. Some lightroom and photoshop too.

So what I want Is a workstation, but I will be using it in my sparetime also. I want the computer to last as long as possible and be "future proofed" for upgrades.

I've read alot threads regarding workstations, looking at other builds and scanning through reviews of different components etc. But now im so lost, and kinda confused. I don't know alot about computers and I don't really know what i need.

This is the build i got so far from various recommendations, builds etc:

I can't really go more expensive then the build above. Rather I would like something cheaper if possible.

My biggest problem I guess Is that I don't know which CPU that would be best for me. Everyone seem to be recommending the Intel 3930k, 4770k or even the 3820 for video editing.

If it matters I will be doing several shorter projects simultaneously. The longest projects will go up to 15 minutes but most of them will be in the 2-5 minutes area.

So please, help me. A good and reliable build that can handle some work is what I need.

Also, I won't be overclocking the computer.

How important to you that these projects don't need to be redone and that your workstation needs to be 100% stable at all times? Also what is your timeframe to complete these projects?

The shorter projects won't be redone once they are finished. I'll give a week of my time on each of them. I would prefer stability over speed though.

The longer projects I will give more time, say, three weeks or something like that. I want the work to be done smoothly but im not in need of something ultra-fast. Unless it's not super expensive ofcourse.
