I just got two Asus ProArt monitors which support DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, and VGA, and I have a Wacom Cintiq tablet, which is plugged in like a DVI monitor. I'm having an issue where I only have one each of HDMI, DVI and DP ports in my PC. When I plug in HDMI and DVI I have no problems, but for some reason when I plug in the monitor through the DP, the computer recognizes it, but the monitor doesn't find a connection to display anything.

A simple fix in getting the DP working would be brilliant, otherwise, I'm trying to figure out any way I can get all three screens working, preferably without spending any or much more money.

Well probably need more information like which graphics card you're using. When you plug in the DP monitor, are the other 2 on. Have you tried gong into your display software and extending the desktop onto the 3rd DP monitor once the other two are hooked up and running?

i just spent the last 4 or 5 hours trying to find an answer... you will not like the "solutions"

first up, check your cable... MOST cables are trash and are not built to the correct spec - yep, even the brand name ones. You need to find one that has Pin 20 disconnected or disconnect it yourself. Seriously.

When you get it working, the next problem is that when you reboot, you basically have disconnected your monitor. This is a displayport problem itself. It was not really designed to work with 3+ monitors. if you have a nvidia quadro series card there is a genuine fix, if not, here are the "solutions" i found:
you can always leave your monitor and/ or your computer on.
double tap the power switch of your monitor to refresh.

Sick right? apparently Microsoft is aware of the issue (for many years), but from their point of view, DP is running as designed. U mad yet (like me)?

Where did you get this information? I've been using displayport for several yeas now and have never gotten a bad cable, have never had to disconect any pin, and my monitors work fine. As far as working with 3 or more screens, DP was made for this. Look at the AMD EyeFinity cards that go above 4 screens to 6. They ONLY use displayport. I currently have 2x 24 inch 1080p monitors running just fine over displayport, along with 2 others connected using HDMI and DVI. Windows has never had any problems using my DP monitors.

I also haven't had a bad cable, but I have only purchased display port.org certified cables, but MANY people have had this problem.

What card are you using?

I haven't heard a solution to the "displayport monitor disconnect" problem when powering off. If you are using a nvidia GeForce card PLEAsE share.

Thanks for the info guys. I was able to find a fix for my problem, which ended up being really stupid obvious. I didn't realize my monitors had different inputs and had just needed to change it.
