Looking for a graphics card for my new computer, So far I have narrowed it down to AMD 7950 and GTX 760. Budget is that price of 269. I thought I was ready to buy but I can't decide which would be better. That and there's many brands of both the 7950 and the 760, so that further confuses me on which to get.

Please help me decide which is better the 7950 or the 760 and please help me figure out a brand of which card to get.

Thank you :)

I personally prefer Nvidia cards and if I was buying I would get an EVGA 760 or Asus 760. That said, the 7950 is a great card and the three game bundle is nice too - again, if it were me, I'd get an Asus DC-2 3gb card.

The GTX 760 is faster than the 7950 at stock clocks. The 760 comes with Arkham Origins ($50) and with the 7950 you get to pick 3 $15-$25 games. My 760 OC'd to 1295Mhz without a voltage increase and I am getting better framerates with it than a stock GTX 770 or 680. The 760 is about $25 more expensive before any rebate so that would be the deciding factor for most people. Here is a chart I found helpful when I was trying to decide between the same cards. Hope this helps!

This was very helpful, thank you. I have decided on the 760, But now the question is which 760? Asus, Pny, Evga, Evga SC, Galaxy, Evga Acx, MSI, Zotac, Gigabyte. Just to name some. I don't know which one would be good for me. I plan to OC, I have heard that the Galaxy or Gigabyte, one of them has a voltage lock. I don't know which one would be best.

I tried the EVGA ACX first but returned it due to high temperatures while gaming.

I ended up going with this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127745

It honestly is the best card I've owned in the last 5 years. It comes with a nice factory OC and I was able to get it to 1295Mhz without a voltage increase. That's 315Mhz higher than the stock 760's which come in at 980Mhz. Before overclocking it hit about 58-60c during benchmarks and at my current OC it hasn't gotten above 68c. The fans on this card were increased to 92mm and are completely silent even at 80%. There are plenty of 760's to choose from but this one definitely gets my recommendation!

EVGA, Asus, MSI in that order. I would NOT get a reference model of any of these, only the dual cooling (o/c) models.

Okay, I have decided on the Evga GTX 760 Super clocked. That's not reference right? Just want to be sure that's a good card before I purchase.
