4800MQ vs. 4900MQ - Cache size & cpu-intensive games

I'm looking at getting a new laptop and was wondering what kind of real life fps differential I would see between the 4800MQ and the 4900MQ. The slight uptick in clock speed doesn't seem too impactful, but the 33% increase in cache size looks like it might be significant.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of performance gain this kind of larger cache would create in a cpu-intensive game such as Starcraft II? I've looked for direct and similar comparisons, but haven't been able to find anything definitive. The price difference is only a couple of hundred dollars, so if there is a tangible benefit, it may be worth it to me, as opposed to the 4930MX, which was something like +1.5fps for $500.

Thanks.

  1. 1-2fps maybe. If it costs a couple hundred it is not worth it.
