I got everything connected and received a system timer failure. Friends suggested RAM was the issue, found out once I pulled out a particular stick the beeping stopped. So I found the bad RAM but now I don't get any noise from the speaker, all the fans are spinning and nothing shows up on the monitor. I've checked the connections, reset the CMOS tried the discrete and integrated graphics. I'm stuck now.

If you've got extra thermal compound, I recommend pulling the CPU out and making sure there aren't any bent pins in the socket. I built a PC for a friend a couple months back with an ASRock Z77 Extreme4, and it had a bent pin in the cpu socket which was messing up one of the RAM channels. You may need a magnifying glass and a flashlight to really inspect them.

No I'll have to stop and get some paste before I try that. It wouldn't surprise me if I had a bent pin on the mobo. Being my first build I was hesitant when putting in the CPU, I thought that there was way too much force to be putting the tension plate back on and backed off it a few times, I could have bent pins then. But after some videos they told me it was normal. As for the RAM, I have 2 RAM slots and two sticks, I pulled B slot first - 4 beeps, swapped the sticks in A - no beeps, moved no beep stick to B - no beep, swapped first solo stick to B - 4 beeps so I know I need to RMA the RAM. Is there anything else I should try before pulling the CPU off and probably RMAing the mobo?
