A few cooling questions.

I have an AMD fx8120 8 core and I noticed my temps were getting pretty high. So I figured I would lay off gaming for a few days and wait for a cooler to come in.
I'm unsure of what cooler I need. I don't know what to look for or how strong I need it to be. What kind of brands should I look for/stay away from?
I'm looking at this right now on a recommendation. Would it work? Is it worth it? My case is the Source 210 Elite

I've already checked airflow and my fans are in the right spots for flow. However, I am still new to putting together gaming PC so any advice on this will be a huge help.

well if its help i have been using the Gelid-GX7 cooler.so far its quiet good and keep my whole rig cooled.only thing is it is quiet big and long.or you could try water cooling.

I fixed my links in the post so they are all there now.

Well I was playing Rome 2 and it started to get decently hot. It was around 70ish when I cut it and stopped playing. I didn't think much about after market coolers when I got it. Core temp 1.0 Is saying it is going idling around 36 right now. I think since Rome might actually be using all 8 cores that the temp is going a bit nuts. Yes, I haven't reapplied but I am going to pick some up when I get the cooler.

i guess Rome 2 is the same as total war shogun 2.i played it on my system and get around 59-66 on my cpu and 62-68 on gpu.its normal on graphic and cpu intensive games.ur cpu tj max is around 100 if i am not mistaken.Your PC will shut itself down to avoid damage once it hits the TJ max temp. Also just to add where i live the weather is hot and wet so the room temp might also affecting the pc temp.Best thing to do is to reapplied the thermal paste.

Well I would still like to buy one. Since I can't find any solid on what is a decent temp for this CPU. I still think it may be best to get something because the whole rig gets kinda hot. I will reapply thermal paste once I get it. I will probably buy it at the same time.

I already have that case I listed above. I am asking for advice on what kind of cooler to get for my CPU. My whole rig gets pretty hot and I would like to get one. My CPU temp may not be to high for this CPU but I want to cool everything down a bit. Since I have no real knowledge of coolers I don't know how strong of one I need or what to look out for.

Do you have the same CPU? The AMD FX-8120? I've got a decent amount of space for one in my case.

Edit: Thank you for your help so far, its good to know that 70 isn't major. I just noticed the Tj Max is 90C so 70 doesn't sound to bad.

no problem.this is what the forum is for.My friend have the same cpu as yours in a smaller case.never hit the tj max so far.(even reaches 80c when playing crysis 3).Since you have a lot more room for cooling, you could try getting the cooler that i use or perharps something better as your casing is way better than mine.

I know its been a minute but I've been kind of busy, but thank you for your help. I think I may land on getting the Thermallight silver arrow. Its costly but I am going to guess it will last a while and work well. I want to keep my pc going as long as I can lol. I had my old PC die form heat because I never watched it, so this time around I am trying to buy quality hardware and take care of it.
