Hey guys,

1st time posting here so forgive my mistakes please, and i don't know much about pc so if i make mistakes or wrong assumptions please let me know.

The problem with my amd phenom II black ed T1100 started recently. I am using 32 gb gskill ripjaw 1600 bus ram (running them at 1333 cause couldnt get them to work on 1600), ocz vertex 3 128 gb ssd, a 1TB samsung hdd, asus 6850 gpu, lg dvd writer and asus m4a89gtd pro usb 3 motherboard with 800W thermaltek psu. OS : wins 7 ultimate sp 1

Once I put too much thermal paste onto my cpu and when I tried to open it the cpu came out with the heatsing without the lock being opened and some ping got bent slightly. I fixed it right away and thus no problem was seen. After few months of that incident i got a hyper 212 evo for my cpu cause the stock fan was making too much noise. I followed all the instructions properly and changed it but after changing it my bios went to default like it should i changed the bios settings back and booted my pc but it seemed like everything is getting stuck and everything is very slow like i am using an old laptop. For instance if i click chrome to open it should open within seconds it was taking 10 sec just to properly open, same with games. It was taking way too long to load a game and ingame was choppy and laggy. Though was a virus problem cleaned whole ssd and hdd nothing found. Thought driver problem used drive sweeper uninstalled all drivers and reinstalled them, thought my new cooling fan doing it changed back to old one, thought something is wrong with windows so formatted ssd did a fresh install and YET nothing happened it stayed the same. i didnt run any benchmark before but my windows experience index was 7.8 but when i ran it recently it dropped to 4.1 where 4.1 was the calculation speed as it was cpu. while all these i discovered some thermal paste on the cpu pins and on its sides so i took it out cleaned it properly with a cleaner and toothbrush (followed some instructions from web). All the thermal paste as i could see was gone, STILL no nothing my pc is still the same everythign is still choppy and getting stuck. Looked around in web for a while couldnt find anything similar to my problem, is there any thermal paste inside the motherboard socket which is causing the problem? if so how can i clean it? If not what can I do? and im so sure its my cpu cause i overclocked it and the index score was higher and my lags were lesser but i shouldnt have to overclock a hexa core to 3800mhz just to get less lag do I? please help me out guys. do i need to buy anoyher cpu at this point? i am really at a loss here. sorry for crappy explanation, if i missed anything let me know please and thanks for reading it.

Hey, thanks a lot for all the help you have given me. i really appreciate it. cleaning the cpu socket was my last resort but just wanted to make sure i talk to an expert before i do it. my hectic days are over something WAS inside the socket i used a toothbrush and isopropyle alcohol to clean it thoroughly and it worked! pc is back to normal with a 7.5 cpu score. Thanks again for everything
