I have a GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H LGA 1150 mobo, it only has 6 fan headers. My case Inwin GRONE had 5 fans stock with the ability to run 8 max 8. I switched them out for 7 140mm after market fans two up top two in front of case one in inside front where mobo is and a H60 120mm liquid cooler in the back by the I/O. I am using a Corsair HX 750 PSU. I also have a NZXT fan controller installed. Is there a way I can run all of this on this motherboard if it only has 6 fan headers. If so what steps should I take to achieve this? Thanks.

Solution
The fan controller most likely takes its current directly from the psu, so all you would have to do is connect the fan controller to the PSU and use Y-cables to plug the fans into the controller.

It is generally possible to run 2 fans on one header with an Y-cable. I am not sure though how many fans can be run on one 12V-rail of the PSU, but I suspect that it would be a substantial amount.
