So I am basically at my wits end. The problem for me started from yesterday and I was too depressed to even come here and ask all of you guys for help. I spent the whole day scouring the net and trying the solution to my answer and I kind of worsened the situation maybe - I don't know.

So as to be precise - let's start from the beginning.

1. (Day of The Problem) - I woke up at 5.45am in the morning, started my computer and as usual I selected Windows 7 (I am saying selected because my computer has triple booting - with Windows XP, Windows 7 & Windows 8 all on different partitions). So after it started I spent some time doing my work. And than I felt a bit sleepy around 6am So I went back to sleep but what I did before going to sleep started the mother of all problems for me. I set the computer to sleep and I myself went to sleep. I woke up around 7.20 am and the first thing after doing my daily activities, I went on to start the computer - Instead of getting the User log in option which I usually get when I set my computer to sleep - My computer booted from the beginning and I was like o_O so just after the BIOS screen flashed my computer restarted and it went on a never ending loop of restart. I shut it down manually and I had no idea what to do.

2. (15 Mins. after the problem started) - I put my windows xp disk and ran the recovery console and I did fixboot in the recovery console after which I was saw Invalid Boot.ini (booting from C:/Windows) so I was able to boot into my Windows XP and for test I restarted the computer again - This time however there was no message of Invalid boot.ini and it only said Booting from C:/Windows and my Windows XP loaded without a problem. At this point I realized since I did fixboot using the Windows XP Recovery console, I am able to boot into Windows XP but I am not seeing the option to boot into Windows 7 or Windows 8. Now my Main problem started - I do all my important work in Windows 7 and I need access to that - Windows 8 is not important for me but Windows 7 is the main OS I need for my daily activities.

So at this point what must I do - I have a Windows 7 System Repair USB, should I use that to load into Windows 7 Recovery Console and use the command prompt to do 'bootrec /fixboot' or should I use 'bootsec /nt60 all' from Windows XP.? I don't know what to, Someone please help me in details.

Solution
you want to try doing a startup recovery using the windows 8 disc, the windows xp bootloater will not recognise windows 7 or 8 because they boot in a different way to xp but the windows 8 bootloader should see all three.

Hey RalphJoy22,
I went through a similar problem when taking an Operating Systems class with a sadistic professor. Long story short, you can use EasyBCD (free version) while in XP to create a 7/Vista bootloader with an XP entry.

You will need to download EasyBCD and make sure you have .Net Framework 2.0 installed. Open EasyBCD and and select "Add New Entry" on the left menu. Make sure the Windows tab is selected, then choose NT/2K/XP/2K3 from the "Type" drop down box. You can name it what ever you want, this is what it will show up as in boot menu. Click "Add Entry" to finish this step.

Next, select "BCD Deployment" from the left menu. Select the radio button that says Install Vista/7 bootloader to MBR. Then click the "Write MBR" button to finish.

Restart you PC when your done and you should be greeted with your OS options, including XP.

Hope this helps!

Can you provide me with a little bit more in depth sir and I thank you for responding so quick. So what exactly must I do - Since I am in no way an expert in these things, a little more detailed help would be much appreciated sir.
