Hi,

I bought a dell laptop. With it comes an integrated Intel 4000 graphic card. Obviously I've upgraded it with an AMD radeon 7670m graphic card. That card is fully updated with catalyst and drivers. For a reason when I go to display setting it wont allow me to choose my graphic card. Moreover, when I go to directx (11) it shows my intel graphic card as the primary one. This is extremly frustrating since it means that I get crappy resualts running games on my pc. Please help!

Hi
I had the same problem with my Inspiron 5520 after ... it has a built-in Intel 4000 HD graphics card and AMD radeon 7270M
at first I thought that the problem occurred bcuz I updated the bios From V A11 to v A13
I tried reinstalling AMD driver many times but it didn't work then I found a new bios update V A14 on dell.com ..I installed the new up date but It didn't work
then I started messing around with CCC and I did something that solved the problem for me and it was so simple

here's what I did :

- right click on ur desktop >
- configure switchable graphics (this will Open CCC )
- on the left side click on Power ( If u don't see it Go to preferences and chose the advanced view)
- n then check the option "Enable...
did you switch the primary display adapter in bios? if you didnt you will need to... you may not be able to directly switch it but you should be able to at least disable it. forcing the lappy to recognise the secondary dedicated card as the primary display output...

Cant switch it in bios. Also, when I go to device manager and disable the intel graphics, the monitor chooses the crappy PnP graphics as default, even though the device manager shows my radeon graphic card to be working properly.

Let me see if I get this right:
You bought a LAPTOP with an Intel GPU, but you UPGRADED the GPU? I doubt you could find a laptop GPU chip for sale which could replace your current Intel GPU, so I think you mean you have SWITCHABLE graphics - which means you have BOTH the Intel and the Radeon HD chips.
Your problem resides in the fact that you can't switch from your Intel GPU to your Radeon GPU, right?

1st Question:
What specific model of Dell laptop do you have?
Post it here. ALWAYS post your computer specs (including make & model) when asking for help.

Are you sure you don't need a piece of software that can switch between the GPUs (on the fly or by requiring a restart?).
I personally own a netbook with switchable graphics (Intel+nVidia) and it needs a switching application that does the trick.

Remember: post your laptop model here (be very specific - include serial number in case we can't find the exact model on Dell's website and we have to look it up with the S/N)
