My motherboard got fried recently so I wanted to recover data from my Hard drive so,I connected my drive to another system running the same OS (Windows 7 32 bit) using the SATA to USB adapter The system recognizes the drive but asks me to format it which defeats my purpose to recover the data. Any Solutions??

Some adapters can't handle drives larger than 2TiB, whereas others are configured for 4KB LBAs rather than 512 bytes. In such cases you may see the partitions, but you won't see your data.

You need to provide a lot more details.
