I want to get battlefield 3 and e able to play online but where I am staying right now I don't know the internet speed all I know is I tried downloading something and the mas DL speed was 175kb/s I know my sister streams movies off of netfilex but other than that the internet is pretty bad, would I be able to play BF3 online

Unfortunatelly there is no way to tell.
Speed is not the only information required. You need to know how many packages are lost in a transfer and also your ping.
Not to mention you ned to know the real stability of the speed you have.
