Searching for a modest graphics card? can anyone help!

hi guys ,i just want anyone of u to recommend a a good but somewhat (cheaper) graphic card for my pc..... my system`s specifications r below
intel core 2 duo 6550E @ 2.33 Ghz
memory: 2024 MB
psu 300 watt
16*1 PCIe slot
with microsoft windows xp

That PSU really limits your options when it comes to dedicated graphics cards. Something like this would probably be the best card you could get without having to upgrade. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161427 It runs strictly on bus power from your PCI-E slot so no additional wires from your power supply are needed. well ur psu will prevent u from getting any new decent gpu.u can go for a hd7730 or a gt630(GDDr3 version as the ddr5 versions requires at least 400W psu).

my pc case is kind of small(lenvo thinkcentre 6072v) can i upgrade my psu?

to be frank freind,with that card you would not able to play modern games with very low fps(i.e., quite unplayable but still average performance).
If u can save some money,then do a new build within the nest two months,that is when amd is releasing heir hd9000 series graphics cards(gpu's).this would be a much wiser choice.
