Im having a bit of a dilemma over buying a new laptop. I have decided on one of two laptops. One is a 15" Sager and the other is a 17" MSI.
I plan on using it both for school and gaming. I often to go over to my friends houses to play games and hauling my desktop is getting very frustrating. I bought a 17" Acer laptop around 6 months ago that i planned to use for school and gaming but it was cheap so the graphics card didn't handle my games, the keyboard felt a bit off and the screen seemed VERY
bright and it was very hard to see anything, especially anything dark.

So ive decided to buy a new one and here are the options

Basically its a very similar system but here are some core differences that i see.

-Screens
-Keyboard (Backlit
-Mobility vs comfort
-Brand
-Warranty (2 year on MSI, 1 year on Sager)

I would probably get the Intel AC 7260 Wifi update for 35$ for the Sager and possibly the screen update (95% gamut - 50$). The MSI i would probably make no updates to.

Does anyone have experience with those systems? I would be interested to see what people think about the screen quality.

Also any input from someone whos been in a similar situation would be very helpful.

They are both definitely good systems and both use comparable screens (if memory serves correctly, I believe these two models use the same screen manufacturer even). The MSI has the better keyboard (Steelseries keyboard), though some people don't like that it requires some firm typing to register keystrokes. MSI also has much better speakers.

The warranty is better on the MSI but the service is roughly the same between the two. Since you're considering buying through XoticPC though, they will always have your back either way. :)

Thanks for the reply. Im leaning towards the MSI right now. It seems like its not a big leap to pay an extra 100$ for a bigger screen, better sound and a better keyboard with a backlight.

Plus its nice to get a OS with the purchase :)

Thanks for your help. Im gonna go for the MSI.
Im gonna try to use the W8 and if i cant get used to it ill reinstall W7 :)

That link shows it's actually sold by Upgrade King. Amazon and Xotic appear to be the same price as well, although Xotic can be cheaper if going off the cash price. Xotic is also offering Metro for free, as well as a free Metro theme mousepad.
