Which memory would be good for this system (i7 4770k)

I'm looking for RAM for my PC build but I'm a bit bewildered by all the different speeds. What I basically need to know is what is a good speed and amount for this system:

Intel i7 4770k Haswell
Asus Maximus VI Hero
Thermalright Archon SB-E X2 CPU Cooler
Asus GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II OC 4GB
Samsung 256GB 840 Pro SSD
850W Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 PSU

Used for gaming (I want to be able to use ALT+TAB to switch between applications easy when gaming) and home theatre and some video processing/photoshop work.

Is amount better than speed? IE: would 32GB of 1600MHz memory be better than 16GB of 2800MHz?

G.Skill seems to be a fan favourite, but the size of their heatsinks are absolutely absurd to me, wouldn't those humongous fins block the airflow to my CPU cooler?

I pretty much use GSkill exclusively and have for years (use other if clients desire, but most all stick w/ GSkill) and with coolers that may be problematic height wise, my fav line of GSkill, the Tridents, have that covered...the upper fin is removable (2 small screws on either end and the upper fin slides off)

For most 16GB is sufficient though if heavy into video/imaging/Photoshop, you'd be pleased with 32GB, for that type work I often fire up a RAMDisk and load data into it, that way, basically everything is instaneous, no reads/writes to a platter drive (very slow) except auto saves (in background) or to a SSD (writes are still the bane of SSDs)....Higher DRAM freq also is very helpful here, gaming itself is fine with 1600/1866 as it's simply a conduit, for the memory intensive work I like 2133 to start

Ah I didn't realise you could remove the fins! The problem with G.Skill memory here in the UK is that there aren't many options when it comes to purchasing them! The 2400MHz sticks are much cheaper than the 2133Mhz, which few etailers seem to bother with. Basically 32GB of 1600MHz or 2133MHz will cost me around £300 whereas 32GB of 2400MHz will cost me around £250. Crazy I know!

Alternatively there's something like the Kingston HyperX that's short and 32GB of 1600MHz will cost me around £220. Do you think the HyperX will be good enough? Also what sort of timings should I be going for with 2133MHz or 2400MHz? I think the 32Gb Trident 24000MHz package is 10-12-12-31)

Is there any difference between 2x8GB and 4x16GB sets if the serial code is the same? I can only buy 32GB of 2400Mhz Tridents as a four-pack for instance, whereas the 1600Mhz and 2133MHz sets are 2x8GB only. Also for instance the Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz come in KHX16C9K2/16 (2x8GB) and KHX16C9K4/32 (4x8GB) variety.

Thanks Tradesman that's pretty much what I mean, but alas it's actually finding an etailer here in the UK that does the lower speeds in 32Gb sets! I guess when it comes to the Tridents my choice is pretty much either 16GB in any speed or 32GB of 2400MHz, which at least is excellently priced at the moment!

Thanks again for all your advice, really appreciate it!
