Hi,
I am building small HTPC computer which will be wired to 4 tvs using hdmi cabling in my walls. The computer itself is capable of this and I am using a software called Softxpand duo to run 4 windows users simultaniously. What I am trying to accomplish is to get rid of cable by finding a good live TV subsciption online.

I want to get local channels , mainly football and baseball games , through a live stream online. I want this to be a legit service even if it means a subscription fee of some sort as long as its cheaper than my 40 dollar cable bill.

Does this even exist? I have 50/25 internet which is more than enough for 4 hd streams of Live TV but I just cant find any desktop software or website that can do this.

Any advice is appreciated and thanks!

Last year there was a massive hunt from NFL/MBL against websites streaming their games. Effing rules about "games blackout over specific areas" in order to sell overly expensive tickets for the games are the reason you will not find (legal) way to livestream these games.

As for local channels - get USB (or PCI) TV tuner, with good antenae. And consider yourself lucky if your cable bill is only $40.

So you telling me there is no TVoIP service like there is VoIP for phones where I can just pay a smaller fee than that of the traditional options!!! Seems like they would have invented something like that by now lol. I mean bandwidth of todays internet can surely support it.

I did see this online but Baltimore is not covered. In regards to coverage though does that just mean the local tv channels? I was wondering what kind of coverage is needed unless it was wireless transmissio which defeats my purpose of IPTV.

Any other things like this? Thanks

I have been trying to use a Happauge TV tuner card with Softxpand 2011 express. Unfortunately Softxpand does not support TV tuner cards or USB tuner devices. :(

I really hope they support these devices in their next version.
