Cannot connect to wireless network at work

I am trying to connect my Dell Latitude XT (running XP) to the wireless network at work. It is an open network that automatically redirects to a web login portal each time you connect. I regularly connect to the network with my other laptop and have confirmed that the network itself works fine. There is no key or software required to connect to the network.

I am able to find and start the connection, but it comes up Limited or No Connectivity each time, and will not direct to the login portal. The laptop connects to my home network just fine.

Signal is great, speed is great, tried repairing to no avail (cannot renew IP).

Any ideas? I've checked every setting I can think of, but cannot find what would be blocking this connection.

Yes, it is open. Any device should be able to connect. Use is limited by a web login portal.

That's a typical Windows created IP address and not assigned by the wifi router. Compare your settings, like security settings, wifi channels to your other laptop. How do you set up the connection? Is there any logfile?

I've compared the settings, etc and can't find anything that is different.

I assigned a static IP... the network says it is connected, but has no activity whatsoever. I am not receiving at all.

I'm baffled. This is the only network that won't connect.
