Ok, so I had an error while logging into my only profile on my computer, more specifically it said "The User Profile Service failed the logon", and I used a system restore to try and fix it. The system restore point was just about a week ago, so I did it. It seemed to have fixed the profile error as I am able to log in to my computer with that profile. HOWEVER, now my internet connection seems to be having trouble. I am using a wireless usb (NETGEAR WG111v3) and it keeps telling me I'm connected online, but whenever I use any program (ie Internet Explorer) it never connects to the internet. I have already tried checking to see if I need to update the drivers for the netgear usb, but it says it is up to date. I have also checked for any viruses and whatnot, but nothing major has come up. Is there anything else I am missing?

Solution
Check to see if the date and time is correct in the OS. Also, check your proxy settings to make sure it's not set. Open the command prompt, and try to ping google.com and list the results. (Start Button > Run > cmd > ping google.com)

Thanks for the quick reply M A W! I went ahead and tried re-installing my wireless usb again, and it did not do anything (SURPRISE!). But, I did clear the settings (password and network chosen) and re-entered them, as if I were connecting to the router for the first time. VOILA it connected! I am not sure why this worked, but it allowed me and my computer to connect. Thanks again for your advice M A W. If this every happens again, I will keep this noted.
