Windows not booting after BIOS update?

So I had some problems with my new GPU crashing. I decided to update my BIOS. I ran the MSI update tool, disabled my anti-virus and closed all applications.
I now cannot boot my Windows OS. I'm using the 8.1 preview. I have tried putting my W8 disk in, it just comes up with a logo and does nothing. When I launch 8.1 it says 'preparing automatic repair' and stays there. I cannot get into safe mode too.
What can I do? Please help, I'm really stuck!!

After updating from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 had the "SecureBoot isn't configured correctly" nag in the bottom right hand corner of the desktop. I updated the bios to the latest version after which it would not boot. I couldn't figure out what the problem was until I read "alexoiu" post switched SATA back to AHCI (which it was originally), and it booted perfectly. Note: the bois update did fix the SecureBoot nag.

Thanks alexoiu
