Waiting for the 9000 series is hard.

Lets do it together, anyone else waiting to upgrade?

If the maxwell series comes out just 3-4 months after the 9000, Rage quit time.

You can't wait forever. Sooner or later you have to buy. There is also new hardware right around the corner. I built my first computer a year ago and wish I would have done a few different things. I really can't justify a new build now though.

Man, I know what you mean. Check my pc specs xD I need one bad for BF4. I'm wating to upgrade to a 990fx Mobo, an FX-8350, and an 850w psu. Got it all planned out, just waiting for the new GPU's. Truth is, If 9950 costs more than $400, I'll end up buying a 7950, and crossfiring another in a year or two. :/

I have 7870 cf and am happy with the performance so far. I have noticed that my 3570k at stock was holding me back in crysis 3 (cpu usage at 100% on core 0 and 1 with each gpu at ~90% usage). You will definitely have to OC that 8350. Hopefully, with the new consoles coming out we will see games use 8 threads. If not, that 8350 may not be powerful enough for 7950 CF.

Normally people will get their second card within a year because in two years time the might be a better deal instead of getting the second one. Also by that time i bet you can only get used one if you really shoot for 7950. The card has been out since early last year. Almost two years now. Add another two years from now that will be almost four years.

True, I've been thinking of just getting a 9950 instead, but it'll be over $400 for sure :/ may just buy the 2 7950's for cheap and hope I have no crossfire issues. they'd have more power than the single 9950 for quite a comparable price.

I was originally planning to refresh my computer with many new parts when the 9000 (see: R9-200) series was released. But they've taken so long in getting it out the door that I have just gone ahead and purchased all the parts. I now have a virtually new machine with an old 560 ti waiting to be retired. So frustrating.

The new 1920x1200 monitor isn't doing my old card any favors either.

sorry, a bit off topic, but are you serious? I'm playing Crysis 3 on max settings, 2x SMAA at 1080p with an overclocked GTX680, almost constant 50fps or above and all 4 cores on my 3570k fluctuate around 50-60% (only 30-40% when overclocked).

It seems strange yours is only using 2 cores.

I'm hoping BF4 will be thrown in with the deal, offsetting the cost by about $50-60AUD.

But it will come down to performance vs $$. If they aren't a great leap above 7950/7970 and especially if these prices drop, then I'll get 2 of these.

But if they have 4GB 512bit memory, I could still be swayed!

I'm currently trading in my (awesome) GTX 680 and waiting (impatiently)

Them feels. Ive been watching and learning PC Tech over a year now. Building my 1ST RIG on Nov. (9000 series will arrive later weeks to UAE from the release date)

I planned out everything. From the processor to psu.

Now Haswell sucks (IB-E :D). I might go with 4820k for more cache, more ram (ramdisk) and cheaper price. But boards on x79 platform have alot of issues. Gotta find a board with few issues. Hoping they will refresh some boards.

It's not only using 2. The other 2 cores were at about 75%. Also, I play at 2560x1440.
