I am wanting to know what do I need to know and consider when selecting a PSU?

I am planning on buying a new PSU and going to run an AMD 8350 with the gigabyte UD3 rev 4.0. I currently have an ultra 550 W LSP and I am Not sure if that is sufficient or do I need to upgrade? I do not have a video card chosen yet (I currently on a galaxy GeForce 9600 GT) so I need to take that also into consideration. I plan on overclocking the CPU and doing 50/50 games and media streaming.

I like the wires and cords that you can disconnect from the actual PSU so I really am looking forward to that. I see however there's different wattage and efficacy ratings and I'm wanting to know what would be best for me and I might expand the cards and units in the future.

A good reliable 600w to 650w PSU would fit your needs. These 2 are made by the best SEASONIC.

What is the reason why them vs cool master or corsair? Also when you say for my needs, what does this psu do based on my needs and possible down the road upgrades? What in a psu matters or I need to look out for? Efficiency rating, etc....
