I'm trying to install a new HD7970 powercolor graphics card but I'm having no end of problems.

I can't get a display working and have to use the monitor on the internal graphics connector.

I'm also getting the following message when trying to access the catalyst control centre.

No amd graphics driver is installed, or the amd driver is not functioning properly.

I only have one 6 pin plug going into the graphics card although I notice this card also has an 8 pin socket next to it.

Could someone please help me with a solution.

Would really appreciate it, thanks

My old card was a HD7850.

Here's my set up

CIT 750 WATT DUAL 12V RAIL 120MM SILENT POWER SUPPLY

AMD FX 4100 3.6 GHZ QUAD CORE BLACK EDITION CPU UNLOCKED

8GB DDR3 1600MHZ FAST MEMORY (16GB MAX)

GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3 MOTHERBOARD

Get a better PSU with all the connectors for the graphics card. It is not receiving enough power. I have never even heard of that PSU brand, and I doubt it is even 80 Plus rated, which means it will not put out anywhere near its rated power even if you had all the connectors.

Hey try this,

-Remove your graphics cards
-Uninstall all the AMD Drivers from your computer
-Reboot to ensure the Drivers are removed
-Shutdown and install the new card
-Go to the amd website and download the Driver Autodetect(also here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx)
-install the driver

Thanks for the quick replies.

What psu would you recommend for my system.

I will try what you suggest sunspot.

Just put my old card back in and no display again, only just from on board computer hdmi.

Is there a setting I have to change in the Gigabyte Bios to enable the graphic cards display?
