Hello, recently I`ve been thinking about buying a new gpu for my desktop, which is a XFX HD 7870 Core edition. I would like to play next gen games at full hd at high settings( not ultra). I don`t really need the "60 fps" thing but i do want to be able to run most of the upcoming games at around at least 35fps. Until here everything seams ok, but there is a problem: My cpu is not very powerfull and i fear I might not be able play next gen titles with it. It`s an old Pentium G 850 2,9Ghz CPU. The problem is that I am already starting to see some games where my cpu doesn`t even reaches the minimum requirements! My CPU is what is actually stoping me from buying a slightly better gpu (a gtx 760, for example) cuz i know that there will terrible bottleneck issues. If I do choose to buy a better gpu, then I would also need to invest into buying a better gpu! I was a console guy until now, but I would really like to become a pc gamer! So, do you think that if I buy a hd 7870 and stick with my cpu I will be abble to play games like Mirrors Edge 2, Battlefield 4 and Watch Dogs?! Again, remember that i only want about medium/ high setting 1080p and i dont care if im getting only about 35fps.
Im so scared of the fact that my cpu is already less powerfull than the minimum requiriments of some upcoming games. I have 4 gb of ram wich I think is enough but my cpu is really making me super worried. Please respond as fast as possible!
PS: Sorry for my bad English, it is not my main language.
