Pardon me for my english.
My Specs:
Processor: E6500 2.93 Ghz (Upgraded to QX 9660 3 Ghz) Still the same problem though
Ram: 2x2 Gb DDR3 1333 fsb dual channel corsair value select
Motherboard:Asus P5G41T-M LX
GPU: Radeon 4850
Hard disk: 160 Gb and 1Tb on which bf3 is installed

I set everything to low and turned off every possible features. still the game hangs for 2-3 secs some times more and the sound keeps on repeating at times!
I know my CPU is not powerful enough but something is wrong I am sure. Even my dekstop performance is not up to the mark, which used to be pretty good.

Additional info: My bios show that the rams are running on 1066fsb. I dont know how to O.C the rams so they work on 1333 fsb without tinkering with CPU.

I checked my HD with HD Tune pro and it showed no bad sectors

Windows 7 64bit is installed on my system.

I tihnk there is bottleneck somewhere but dont know where.

Solution
The bottleneck is on your GPU. Your Battlefied 3 is a GPU dependent game. And the GPU that you're using is about two times slower than the very low-end HD 7750. I do believe that it is what's causing you those issues.

7750 indeed faster than 4850 but it's not twice as fast.

@OP

BF3 is quite demanding title especially on MP which is recommeded to use stong quad like intel i5 series

Thanks for such a quick response. The lag I told you is not MP but on campaign.
My other friend has athlon x2 2.8 Ghz O.C to 3.1Ghz, 4 Gb DDR3 1666, and GT 430. According to him Bf 3 does not lag on his system and compared to GT 430 my card is better I suppose as it has a higher score on passmark. and I have a native resoultion of 1680x1050 but I am running the game on 1280x720.

Plus my browser takes like 5 secs to open at times. which used to open in split of a sec on this same dual core. Slow dekstop performance is also making me think that something is wrong

Now I have Intel QX9660 3 Ghz 12Mb cache and still have the same problem of FPS dropping to zero.

I don't think that is the case. Although my GPU is not powerful but in order to see if its truly GPU bottleneck I put my GPU in my friend's PC his PC specs are

Processor: AMD Phenom2 X4 960
GPU: Ati 4850
RAM: 4Gb DDR II
Hard Disk: 500Gb Western Digital blue
PSU: Cooler Master GX 550 watts
OS: Win 7 64 bit

I was able to play just fine on this build! (around 30 FPS)
With medium settings on 1080p !

So what could be the problem in my system now?

@Chimera201 I have Cooler Master 450 Watts.
@Kristiana I think you didn't notice I upgraded my processor to QX 9660. Do you think the lag is still due to processor? Even if it is, it should not be so severe that FPS drops to zero!

@lolhate sorry your question got overlooked by me. BTW no temp issues I have cooler master hyper 212 and it is doing his job :)

@KristianAA yes I agree its an outdated GPU but like I said the game runs fine on my friends PC! (at medium settings at 1080p)
He has an AMD quad core (Phenom X4 960) I don't think there is too much difference between both the CPUs
The rest of the specs are almost same, I have mentioned them already.
