GTX760 Stuck on HP Splash Screen

I'm using a HP p6 2065sc Windows 7 and I thought I'd update my graphic card from a GT 530 to GTX 760 but that was easier said than done. When I try to boot my computer with the new card it stays at the hp splash screen. The GPU is correctly installed I have both cables connected to the PSU which I also upgraded to a 600w cosair.

The fans are running properly It's just that I get stuck on the loading screen when I use the gtx 760

I'm using a H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX mobo which has support for pci-e x16 (gen 2)

I've tried updating my bios drivers but can't seem to figure out the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not even booting with my gfx760 since it doesn't work. I'm using my 530gt as we speak. I tried removing the CMOS and removing/adding my cards way before I posted this. I have been googling for hours so I've propably tried most of the common stuffs.

can you get into the bios while the 760 is installed? are you sure these are the correct specs? you can go to hp's web site enter your service tag and get a better look at what installed i think, cause somethimes it can vary a little. Or pop in the the old video card and use cpuid to get a look.

No I cannot get into bios, and I'm pretty sure the specs are correct since It's custom model and all the parts are fitting like they are suppoed to.

Hey Bro,

Hope you see this. My pal just ran into this issue and it's apparent we need to get him a new mobo. Did you have any trouble installing the new mobo into the HP case? I wanted to make sure there wasn't some kind of "HP Proprietary" screw mounts that would be incompatible with a normal mobo before we get him a new LGA 1155 that supports PCI-e 3.0 for his new gtx 760.

Had the same problem with Windows 7 on the Cupertino2 mobo and GTX 760.

Fond a solution by accident. I dont know whether step 1 or 2 are essintial, but since I had performed them before they are included here:

1: Upgrade the HP bios from v7.14 to v7.16. I have done it with no GPU in the PCIe slot. Used the mobos VGA connector for the screen.
2: Delete all Nvidia files and drivers incl. registry.
3: Build in the GTX760. Make sure both the 8 and the 6 connectors cable from the PSU (600W) is connected to the graphic card.
4: Switch on the PC. As soon as the Bios screen is coming up press F12
5: New black screen with white letters and some information on configuration. At the lower right side it should show "Network Boot".
6: Wait 1 minute. There come 2 beeps with about 1/2 minutes interval.
7: Some 15 seconds after the second beep press "ESC" and keep on pressing. After some seconds some rapid cracking sound from the PC. Dont let it disturb you. Keep on pressing "ESC".
8: After the third beep the screen gets black and a white cursor blinking on the upper left. But: Keep on pressing "ESC" with no interruption.
9: After some seconds again a new screen appears with some information in DOS style. Here you can stop pressing "ESC".
10: Again black screen a few seconds, and then: Voila! Windows 7 is starting.

I dont know why its working, but it does for me. No new mobo needed :)
