FX 8350 High temps?

I got this a few weeks ago, and while player battlefield 3, temps can reach up to 58.

I haven't overclocked and I'm using stock cooling.

Is this high temps to be getting?

CPU load isn't even that high.

Yeah max thermal before shutdown is 62C...

I will try that. Only thing I could think of now causing it would be the PSU. It's an old style case where the PSU is at the top, 2in above the CPU.

That wouldn't cause temps to go so high. I have an 8350 OC'd to 4.5 Ghz and I rarely break 45 when playing BF3. And my ambient temps right now are around 30, although that's not with the stock cooler, although a stock 8350 I can't imagine going higher than that with the stock HSF.

I have solved the problem (mostly)
The case was too hot. I had several hard drives plugged in, but not in use to I unplugged them. Also front case fan changed from 7V to 12V.

Temps are now at 56 max, from 60. I need to improve airflow more on the case. It is really old.

Yeah, not having correct airflow can really hurt the temps inside of a case, try and have exhaust on top/rear and intake on front/bottom/side, which ever spots you can place fans.
