Title says it all, I need a long range network card for gaming. Connecting directly is not an option as it the connection is a few rooms away, so my only option is to go wireless unfortunately. That being said, I thought I had found a good card in the TP-LINK TL-WDN4800, but after doing some reviews, it appears this card suffers from some range issues, and that is something I really don't want. Any advice would be wonderful. I prefer PCI over USB.

I should add that the router is 3 walls and 30 feet away, so yeah. I am running on a wireless connection atm with my laptop at 32 down 25 up, with no connection issues, so yeah.

Have you considered using a Powerline adapter instead? Using wireless to traverse through 3 walls is always going to be challenging...especially when gaming.

Okay forgive me, but I am fairly new at computer tech as a whole so I am a noobie. What exactly is Powerline networking? From what it sounds like you just plug in the device and it acts like an ethernet plug.

it uses the electrical current that you have at home to send data, so you plug one near your router and one near your computer, you synchronize them and then you connect through Ethernet.
The bandwith that you can gee with this technology nowadays is quite high, I would recommend it more than trying to resolve your problem using a wireless card.
