Alienware x51 and the GTX 760 SC

Hey guys. I just bought the gtx 760 super-clocked edition with the reference fan, and it was a really tight fit. I had to get an extra 6 pin to 8 pin adapter which made it a barely fit. My average gpu temperature with the target temperature from the gpu boost 2.0 and when playing max out games like splinter cell blacklist @ 60 fps is 80-81 degrees Celsius. If i raise the target temperature with precision x the temperature fluctuates to the new temperature. I am unsure if one of the power pins may be blocking some of the fan, or if it is normal. Is there any other ways to cool my gpu externally? Thanks

    Hi
Alienware X51 is an Mini Gaming Desktop Case !
I`m wondering how you ever made this to work :)

You need cold air to do the magic !
You can drill out side panel and you can fit 120 mm fan to intake some air over the GPU !

But you must get big tower case ....
  2. I'm looking into buying an x51 but why is a gtx 760 ti a surprise to put in the x51???? When dell offers the gtx 760 ti and the amd radeon r9 270x as an option upon purchasing
  3. I have placed the 760 sc on my x51 with taking full power of 250W at most. And the temperature is less than 83 degrees.
