I am pretty much clueless on good gaming monitors even though I've read up on them. I need help on what monitor is the best for $199 and below. I've seen a lot mentioned on the Asus vs and ve series as well as some Samsung and acer here and there and I have know idea which to choose. I use my computer mainly for gaming if that will help you narrow the selection down.

What are you outputting with? HDMI? DVI? VGA? Also what size range are you looking at?

Here's an ASUS 23" 1080p with 5ms response with all connectors. On sale for $160.

I've seen a few asus's that have a 2ms response like the VE247h and VS248h but I'm hesitant on acting on those based off of mixed reviews. Do you have any experience with those?

Not personally, but most of the 2ms monitors are above your $199 goal...
