I NEED to disable HD4000 and use my Nvidia. Please help!

So I bought two expensive monitors with 2560x1440 resolution.

The only way I can set them up is to daisy chain them using displayport 1.2.

My Nvidia GT 650m supports displayport 1.2, but my HD 4000 only supports displayport 1.1

When I disable the HD 4000, for some reason it defaults to "Microsoft Basic Display Driver" instead of the Nvidia drivers.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you install the Nvidia driver? It doesn't sound like you did. What exact make/model is your gpu?

I didn't notice the "m" the first time. What make/model is your laptop? HD 4000 can't output 2560x1440 so you will have to use the gpu only. I just doubt your laptop is capable of running two 2560x1440 monitors.

I'm pretty sure it can run them both without an issue, there's just no way to connect them. I can cheat by creating a custom resolution for the hdmi port, but then I have to use a low refresh rate.

I should be fine if I can find a way to disable the HD 4000 which is only getting in the way.

HD4000 can run one 2560x1440 via DP 1.1

What laptop do you have? If you really want to disable HD 4000 then go to your bios and somewhere in there will be an option to disable it. Hard to say where without knowing what your laptop is. Spam del at startup to get in it.

It's a samsung series 7 "chronos" laptop. I looked around in the BIOS and couldn't find any graphics stuff. Do you know if there's a way to enter a different bios for "power users" or anything?
